Revealing the invisible is a continuous exploration using experimental photography, particularly photograms (a darkroom exposure technique) with translucent objects. The project began in my thesis year of grad school at California College of the Arts (CCA) and continued to six-month art residency at the Image Flow in Marin County, CA.

Revealing the Invisible Photography

The follow images were all processed in the darkroom + are silver gelatin prints.

Translucent objects used include: Glassware, broken pieces of glass, jello, resin, bubbles, gummy bears + water.

Being an individual that struggles with an invisible disability (I am deaf and wear cochlear implants) I was interested in investigating how metaphorical explorations of invisible struggles we all have makes us relatable. By exposing the unseen within translucent objects, we as viewers can see the mistakes and beauty in the invisible layers.
